Motobilt Fuel Cell

Choose a Motobilt aluminum fuel cell for a custom fuel-tank relocation. The two configurations differ in capacity, dimensions, and fuel-pump requirements. Both configurations offered here are fuel cells without the mounting base and clamps.

15 Gallon — MB5005-3AN

• Approximately 15 US gallons.
• Dimensions: 30 x 12 x 9 inches.
• Designed for an external fuel pump.
• Intended for installation inside the bed of a Jeep, truck, or buggy; may fit behind a seat where measured space permits.
• Three welded #8 AN top fittings provide vent, fuel pickup, and return connections. Includes a rollover valve in the vent and an internal pickup hose and mount.
• Compatible MB3000 mounting kit is sold separately.

19 Gallon Selection — MB5010-3AN

• Actual listed capacity is approximately 18.7 US gallons.
• Dimensions: 30 x 12 x 12 inches.
• Designed to use the stock Jeep TJ fuel pump.
• Installs inside the rear bed area; does not fit behind the factory seat.
• Tank has provisions for the pump clamping ring. MB5007 clamping ring must be purchased separately if not already owned.
• Includes a vent connection with a rollover valve.
• Mounting base and clamps are not included.

Construction and Installation

• CNC-cut 1/8-inch 5052 aluminum, press-brake formed and TIG welded.
• Includes a large D-ring-style filler cap. Remote filling requires a separately purchased compatible filler-neck system.
• Designed for custom relocation applications, including builds where axle travel or wheelbase changes interfere with the factory tank.
• These fuel cells do not mount between the frame rails. Check tank dimensions, available space, plumbing, pump compatibility, and mounting requirements before ordering.

For the TJ pump-ring installation, Motobilt recommends Permatex 80016 Form-A-Gasket No. 2 sealant on the contact surfaces. The pump clamping ring is a separate component from the tank mounting base and clamps.
